The following baseball and softball divisions are offered :T-Ball – (boys and girls ages 4-5) - This year at VE we will offer a T-Ball only program for our 4-5 year old boys and girls. We will focus on developing the fundamentals of the game with an emphasis on throwing and batting. We play with a reduced roster size in order to allow each child to have more at bats during each game and more opportunities to make plays in the field. Age 6 can optionally play t-ball or in the next division.
Ponytail Softball – (girls ages 6-8) - The ponytail division is a competitive stepping stone for our girls to further develop their skills and their knowledge of the game. First time players will feel comfortable starting in this division. We emphasize throwing technique, hitting coaches’ pitching, catching, and running the bases. The focus of this division is learning and preparing each of the girls to move on to the upper softball divisions.
Softball – (girls ages 9-18) – Divisions are 10U, 12U, 15U, and 18U. The softball divisions of VE are for girls to play competitively against teams from other leagues in our areas.
Rookie (A)– (boys ages 6-7) – The rookie A baseball division is a competitive stepping stone for our boys to further develop their knowledge of the game. This division is for boys that have developed their skills to move on from T-Ball and still need work before entering the Rookie AA Baseball division. This will be a coach-pitch division that will be played under a modified set of rules. We will strongly emphasize fundamentals in this division.
Rookie (AA) - (boys ages 7-8) – The rookie AA baseball division is a competitive stepping stone for our boys to further develop their knowledge of the game. This division is for boys that have developed their skills to move on from rookie A and still need work before entering the Minor League Baseball division. This will be a modified kid pitch division that will be played under similar rules as the Minor League Baseball division. We will strongly emphasize fundamentals in this division.
Minor League Baseball (AAA) – (boys ages 9-10) - Our minor league baseball division will play all games in house. No travel. This is a competitive league where the boys will have the opportunity to pitch and further develop their skills.
Major League Baseball – (boys ages 11-12) - Like our minor league program, the major league division will play all games in house. No travel. In this division, the boys will advance their skills and play competitively against their peers within our league.
